The Vietnam war is regarded as one of the roughest wars our troops have ever fought in. In those jungles, chaos was common, insanity easily overcame most and guerrilla war was took a psychological toll on our men. Finally being shipped back home, in rather rough shape, were only met by protesters at the airports. Imagine fighting through that hell and coming back home, to your family and loved ones only to met with hate and resentment from others. In a situation where people were fed up with the government, the troops were in a tight spot. Unaware of the media back at home, the soldiers still thought they were fighting a "good" war, showing bravery and fighting through the hell of a war that was Vietnam. Only doing what they were told, protesters blamed all the innocent killings and, what was believed to be, atrocities on them, and not on the orders the government. War vets should never be treated badly, especially those who served during Vietnam. No matter what the believed cause is, I dare any of those protesters to willingly sign up for that war. Its synonymous to Iraq veterans coming home and people hating them for the governments actions and orders. Soldiers simply do what they are told and do it with valor and bravery. Treatment of war vets is something that is commonly overlooked, usually, only the causes of the war and the war itself are learned and studied. The people knew what those poor men went through, and showing resentment and hatred towards them is the lowest action one could commit.
