Post 4 American Attention Span

As the media turns the spotlight off of the war with Isis, Americans have become increasingly uninterested in what is going on in the middle east; an out of sight out of mind type of situation. This is concerning for plenty of reasons. Obama and America, for that matter, should be walking on thin ice for the next couple months due to the fact that we are potentially waiting for a counter attack from the terrorist group. The frightening part of this whole thing is that we don't truly know how powerful Isis is. since the airstrikes have occurred, I have personally noticed that the media has taken the war and put it on the back burner for the time being; which concerns me. it has been said that america has a short attention span with current events, and i think its human nature to be bored with something you are constantly hearing about. I believe there is just a common lack of interest in whats happening with our country in general. obviously, it is impossible to cover every single bit of news that happens in the world; however, i feel that as a society we should be more curious about what is going on in our government. As ignorance is bliss, it is also harmful as well. Not knowing, and not caring are two different things; but as an American citizen in this day and age we should be interested in what steps our government is taking to stop life threatening things such as terrorism. Also keep in mind that we are the main target for Isis' threats. I think its better to know than to guess. When it comes to something such as protecting your country and maybe even your family, you should educate yourself about the facts NOW... before its too late.
