This article explains how war is often glorified to the public. There are videos of soldiers hanging around, playing pranks, and performing basic training. What is not shown to the people is the trauma of watching your best friend die or the emotional break down after you've killed a person fighting for something they believed in. They believe that if the truth is exposed, then the number of volunteers will drop immensely. Although media can never accurately portray what war is truly like, they still block out all of the horrifying scenes. They make it seem like an easy way to pay for college or an easy way to be honored. The real life of war is something that no one could ever imagine nor could they ever forget once they're out.
