Obviously Ebola is a hot topic right now, and to continue the conversation from in class today id like to add in how people don't take Ebola as seriously as cancer and other things that are affecting people all over because of it's survival rate. Ebola has a 50/50 survival rate which next to cancer looks pretty great. Especially because cancer is affecting people worldwide and as of now ebola is contained to a certain region. But as it was said in class, IF ebola loses containment and reaches the USA and spreads there is literally no hope. The world will be doomed. America is a hot spot, and New York City alone is the most traveled to place in the world. Making it so risky to even let travelers back into the city after being in the affected areas. That's why I think the 21 day quarantine is a good idea and it totally fair to those who have been to the areas. Why? Well it's simple, they decided to go there so they should understand that that's what needs to be done. I think other things should be done to contain and watch the virus though, because as stated before America is a big role in the world and it is the most traveled to spot. Even though some might think we shouldn't be getting involved because it isn't directly affecting us as of right now, I think we should be involved because we aren't involved because we've help prevent it. And without that we will suffer the consequences of outbreaks. Not only here, but worldwide. Other countries will think we're selfish for trying to protect ourselves but they'll think we're selfish if don't do anything at all as well so it's a lose lose. America will look bad whether we help in Africa or we keep our hands off of it. And whether people see it or not, it is and will continue to affect us if we don't find a more efficient way to contain or cure the virus.
