In the current world, so many things, both good and bad, occur and arise every day. Unfortunately, it seems more bad problems arise than good. How, as a country, do we prioritize what we concentrate on? Do we pick out of a hat? Draw sticks? From Ebola to ISIS to terrorism to a fluctuating stock market to illegal immigrants, the problems never seem to end. America as a whole takes up too much responsibility and tries to act as a world moderator, if you will, but we can't handle all of the world's problems. Although being humanitarian and an siding country is part of our doctrine, sometimes we have to focus on whats happening to us, in our borders. Eventually, something's got to give. If we focus too much about problems out of the U.S, things can get out of control in our own land. Look at what happened with illegal immigration, the illegal families clog up cities, schools and take jobs, which in turn deprives our own people of an experience that every American CITIZEN deserves.
The issue over Gaza does not really pertain to America. Neither did ISIS, but America took it upon itself to make it one of our problems. If we want anything accomplished, we must prioritize our problems, or at least think twice before acting in foreign affairs. We should worry about Ebola in our country before worrying about it in Africa. The issue over Gaza will never settle, so we should not prioritize the issue. ISIS is a direct threat to America, which must be contained, but unfortunately, we have to consider the costs of war, on the Syrian side. The costs of war will never, and were never, worth it, but war is war, and nothing will ever change that. In order to help other countries, we must put problems in our own borders first to get back on our feet. If that means not helping other countries for a bit, that's the cost
